The Marketing Manager is responsible for ALL marketing related activities within Oryx Properties Limited.
He/she is responsible for Implementing and executing the strategic marketing plans for the organization (including subsidiaries) in order to attract/retain customers and grow shopper foot traffic within Maerua Mall. Gustav-Voigts Centre and other retail centres. He/she will play a critical role in aligning creative direction with
the Company’s strategic goals.
To ensure that the Oryx marketing strategy is applied through all areas of the company.
To position the shopping centres to have a successful lifestyle, entertainment and customer experience
approach, representing high-quality standards in order to excite customers and shoppers alike.
To harvest a strong promotional focus to ensure regular activations including growth in promotional income within the retail centres.
To interact with tenants and keep abreast with tenant requirements by understanding the retail environment in which they function.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- The execution of the overall marketing and brand strategy for Oryx Properties Limited and subsidiaries.
- Plan, develop and implement effective marketing communication campaigns.
- Copy writing for all marketing collateral, including brochures, websites, internal and retailer and shopper communications.
- Budget preparation and managing campaign spend, accurate record keeping and highlighting where variances occur.
- Undertaking detailed ongoing analysis of marketing campaigns to ensure targets are met.
- Assisting in the production of ongoing competitor analysis and reporting, with particular reference to pricing, presentation and promotion.
- Overseeing implementation of the Marketing strategy – including campaigns, events, digital marketing, and PR.
- Management of exhibition spaces
- Special event and marketing program management
– Online and digital marketing and social media plans
- Marketing Plan. Mall Activities & Events Calendar
- Assist the Centre Manager with research
- Assist with the corporate social responsibility strategy for Oryx Properties Limited.
- Lead marketing end to end within a corporate environment
- Manage and coordinate activities with an external agency / suppliers where needed
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s Degree In Marketing. Business Administration. Communications or related field with 5 years retail, consumer or leisure marketing experience.
- Experience in creative design, digital media management and web development.
- Commercial acumen and understanding of retail marketing In particular the drivers of shopping and shopping patterns.
- Intimate understanding of traditional and emerging marketing channels.
- Strong project management/organisational skills.
- Ability to use spreadsheets to analyse data and spot trends.
- Understanding of customer segmentation.
- Sales driven to acquire new promoters.
- Knowledge of online content marketing and social media development strategies and the latest trends.
- Previous budget management experience required.
- Good Interpersonal, communication and negotiating skills.
- Ability to think creatively and innovatively.
