MARINE SECURITY GUARD (MSG) CHAUFFEUR, FSN – 03 – Embassy of the United States of America

You typically need a valid Namibian driver's license with a professional driving permit (PDP) and a clean driving record. Security experience, especially in diplomatic or military settings, is highly valued. Some roles may require additional certifications in defensive driving or first aid.

You will transport Marine Security Guards and embassy personnel safely between locations in Windhoek and occasionally to other regions. Daily tasks include vehicle inspections, route planning, and maintaining strict schedules. You must also follow strict security protocols and communication procedures at all times.

U.S. Embassy operations follow American standards with emphasis on punctuality, confidentiality, and hierarchical reporting. The environment is more formal and security-conscious than many local workplaces. Expect regular training updates and adherence to international protocols rather than relaxed African business customs.

Benefits typically include medical aid coverage, pension contributions, and annual leave aligned with Namibian labor law. U.S. Embassy positions often offer additional perks like training opportunities and stable long-term employment. Specific packages vary by employer and are usually detailed during the interview process.

With experience, you may advance to senior driver roles, fleet coordination, or supervisory positions within embassy security operations. Some chauffeurs transition into broader diplomatic security or private executive protection roles. Building specialized skills in defensive driving and threat assessment opens doors in Namibia's growing security sector.

Apply through the official U.S. Embassy Namibia website or USAJobs portal when positions are advertised. Recruiters prioritize reliability, discretion, and proven driving experience in challenging conditions. Highlight any military, police, or VIP transport background, and ensure your documentation is complete and professionally presented.
