Public Accountants’ and Auditors’ Board (PAAB) – MANAGER: MEMBERSHIP & TRAINING
Purpose of Position:
To lead and oversee the PAAB’s Membership and Training portfolio by providing strategic direction, governance oversight and operational management of the training programme, membership framework and Audit Development Programme (ADP). The role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, strengthening stakeholder partnerships with accredited training offices, and maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of the PAAB membership and training systems. The position drives continuous improvement of policies, processes and systems relating to membership and professional development, while ensuring accurate data governance, sound contract management and alignment with the Board’s statutory mandate and strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Knowledge of the PAAB training programme and the Audit Development Programme.
- Knowledge of the PAAB Act 51 of 1951 (as amended).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet demanding deadlines while maintaining consistent quality of work.
- Problem-solving and conflict-management skills.
- Knowledge of norms of courtesy and etiquette in relations with the public and co-workers.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Function optimally without or with very limited supervision.
- Project Management Skills.
- Facilitate projects related to the development of new and improved education, training and development standards and processes as well as the development of related materials.
- Oversee the handling of all membership administration and queries including members and ADP applications.
- Perform ADP review of portfolio of evidence, perform ADP monitoring and finalization.
- Reporting to Board on all membership and training activities.
- Maintain effective professional stakeholder engagements.
- Assist the CEO on special projects and tasks.
- Review work performed by the Membership and Training Officer.
- Liaise with Training Offices regarding accreditation and reaccreditation of training Offices.
Requirements
- Qualified CA (ICAN or ACCA)
- Three (3) years post-articles experience
- PAAB Registered Assessor will be added as an advantage
- Valid Code B license.
- Preference will be given to Namibian Citizens.
- This position requires out-of-office work, travel away from home and may require long office hours from time to time.
