The Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR) is a commercial public enterprise, mandated under the Namibia Wildlife Resorts Company Act (Act 3 of 1998), to operate inside the protected areas (National Parks) of Namibia to provide tourism-related services and promote the safer environmental protection activities.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The Manager: Corporate Communication, Online Media and Sponsorships is responsible for developing and implementing integrated communication, media, branding, and stakeholder engagement strategies that enhance the organisation’s reputation, strengthen stakeholder trust, and position the organisation as a leader in sustainable tourism and hospitality. The incumbent will drive strategic communication initiatives that support organisational objectives, safeguard the corporate brand, strengthen stakeholder relationships, enhance digital engagement, and ensure preparedness for reputational and operational crises. The role will also oversee sponsorships, and media relations to promote the organisation’s contribution to Namibia’s tourism sector, conservation efforts, and socio-economic development. The position reports directly to the Managing Director.

Key Responsibilities
- Undertake a strategic foresight and risk mitigation as the ability to anticipate emerging policy, economic, and social trends, analyse their implications.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive corporate communication strategy and policy aligned with the organisations vision, mission, and strategic objectives.
- Translate organisational goals and priorities into clear, compelling, and credible messaging for internal and external stakeholders.

- Train management and employees on crisis communication, media engagement and reputation management practices.
- Lead, mentor and develop the communication and media team to ensure high levels of performance and professional growth.
- Manage department budgets, resources and service providers to ensure effective and efficient delivery of communication objectives.
- Establish performance indicators and reporting mechanisms to evaluate the effectiveness of communication, media, and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
Requirements
- Honours’ Degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or a related study field with past experience in political science or economic reporting, at NQF Level 8.
- Five (5) years of work experience in managing the corporate communications affairs or media relations, of which 3 years should be served at supervisory level.
- Demonstrable strong competency in enhancing the corporate brand reputation both nationally and internationally.
- Strengthen the stakeholder’s confidence through transparent, consistent, and values-driven communication;
- Established media contacts across local and international lifestyle, travel and consumer media / press;
- Deep understanding of the hospitality landscape;
- Comfortable working with analytics tools and reporting on earned media value and coverage metrics
- Exceptional writing skills with a portfolio spanning editorial, brand and PR copy;
- Have strong interpersonal skills, high personal integrity and ethics.
