Purpose of the Job: Planning, scheduling, coordinating and monitoring preventive maintenance activities of all plant equipment and
machinery in accordance with manufacturers’ recommendations, food safety standards, Meatco policies, and
best engineering practices.

Key Performance Areas: Prepare preventive maintenance plans and programs aligned with Meatco‘s maintenance goals.
Plan total productive maintenance, installations and repair work of factory machinery and equipment.
Oversee testing and condition monitoring activities such as oil analysis, vibration analysis, and thermography.
Manage work order cycles on the maintenance management system.
Arrange and oversee pressure vessel inspections, equipment calibrations, and re-certification.
Compile energy utilization, maintenance, and KPI reports.
Maintain records of all repairs, and installations executed, including materials used and costs.
Ensure accurate and timely record keeping of machinery and equipment maintenance activities.
Monitor productivity and performance of technical staff, providing feedback and coaching as the need arises.
Assist with drafting, monitoring, and controlling maintenance costs within budget.
Request and control purchasing of technical spare parts, machinery, and equipment.

Competency and Skill Requirements:A National technical certificate N3 (Electrical, Fitting & Turning, Plumbing, Diesel Mechanic, Millwright, or
similar), or equivalent.
Trade test certificate.
Certificate in Maintenance Planning & Scheduling will be an added advantage.
Five (5) years of relevant technical experience, of which two (2) were in a Maintenance Planning environment.
Knowledge of Food Safety certification systems (e.g ISO 9000,ISO 22 000,BRCGS, HACCP).
Basic knowledge of integrated engineering systems (Mechanical-Electrical-electronic).
Proficient using a computerized maintenance management system (Pragma Onkey5).
Project management, problem-solving, analytical and organisational skills.
