Opportunity | Duty Requirement(s)
Key performance areas will include but are not limited to:
- Ensure that the quality standards of the Company are met and maintained
- Implement and maintain a comprehensive quality control programme in the logistical environment
- Maintain an effective Quality Management System for all DC’s and conduct annual quality audits
- Assist the Namibian DC’s in the implementing, understanding and complying with the Distell Risk Management Program, any other OSHACT and any other relevant risk/security statutory requirements
- Manage stock levels of all Namibian DC’s
- Ensure the allocation and co-ordination of slow moving/redundant and surplus stock in Namibia
- Close co-operation with the Operations Manager to ensure the forecast and safety stock levels are reasonable and accurate
- Liaise with Logistics Head Office and Production Centres on stock availability/production dates
- Co-ordinate the culled stock process for the Namibian DC’s
- Evaluate stock rotation systems and management of slow moving stock
- Provide an effective logistics service to internal and external customers
- Provide a support service to customers and consumers regarding product quality aspects
- Ensure all inter branch transfers are executed on time and meticulously
- Compile and distribute a monthly report as per required criteria and standard
- Assist sites in identifying training needs and arrangement of statutory training
- Development and support of personnel
Key qualifications / experience / skills:
- A suitable tertiary qualification
- Minimum of 5 years in a logistics environment
- Proven computer literacy (Microsoft Office, with strong emphasis on Excel and SAP)
- A valid Driver’s License
- Experience in the implementation and maintenance of Quality Management Systems (ISO)
- Previous exposure to Quality and Risk control will be a distinct advantage
- Experience in the FMCG environment / beverage industry will be advantageous
- Extensive knowledge of Distell’s products
- Thorough administrative skills with attention to detail
- Ability to do problem solving and highly analytical nature
