QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate must have a Degree in Law (LLB or BCom LLB) and be an admitted Attorney or Advocate

1-3 years post admittance experience in practice or as a legal advisor for mid to large corporate company

Exposure to or experience in the professional services environment, built environment, construction- and/or engineering projects, procurement law, legislation governing organs of state and corporate governance

RESPONSIBILITIES

Support the Risk Manager, Company Secretary and Head of Legal

Drafting of documents and agreements associated with the professional services environment, built environment, construction- and/or engineering projects as well as general agreements required by the company for day-to-day business operations and corporate governance

Negotiate, draft, review contracts, amendments and extensions

Provide general legal advice on contract documents

Advise on contractual risk management

Handle contractual disputes

Provide legal information and advice

Formulate policies and procedures

Scrutinise all legal documents

Supports negotiation team

Candidate must be able to work independently and to advise on complex legal issues

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Excellent analytical and drafting skills

Be a team player, with willingness to help others and who shares information and knowledge to help deliver a joint outcome

Highly organised with the ability to work to deadlines and to prioritise conflicting objectives

Able to deal properly with confidential information

REMUNERATION

Negotiable and based on the candidates qualifications and years of relevant experience
