JUNIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR

 

We are looking for motivated and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Swakopmund. In this role, you’ll assist with the contract administration, cost planning, procurement coordination, and financial tracking of materials and services required for site operations. Your contribution will help ensure that projects run smoothly, stay within budget, and meet compliance standards.

REQUIREMENTS

 

 

• Education (Minimum): Bachelor’s or BTech degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.

• Experience (Minimum): 1-3 years experience in civil and build environment

• Skills: Core skill: Strong numeracy, attention to detail, ability to read drawings/specifications, good communication, teamwork, and problem-solving.

• Knowledge of contracts: Familiarity with standard forms (FIDIC, NEC, JCT, GCC).

• Software Proficiency in Excel; exposure to cost-estimation software (CostX, Buildsmart, Candy) and basic CAD tools is valuable.

• Language: English; Afrikaans and German can be advantageous.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

 

• Measure and take-off quantities from drawings and specifications.

• Support cost planning, budgeting, and cost control during design and construction.

• Assist with tender/sub supplier and subcontractor quote comparisons, and procurement support.

• Help with contract administration: valuations, variation orders, progress payments, and final accounts.

• Monitor project costs, report to project teams, and flag risks or deviations.

• Collaborate with engineers, architects, contractors, and clients; visit sites as needed.

• Use cost management software and standard office tools (Excel, Outlook, Buildsmart, Candy).
