Bursary and Internship Opportunity
Debmarine Namibia is offering a fully funded bursary coupled with an internship placement within the business that
may span for several months prior to commencement of studies and/or as part of the MSc studies. Applications are
invited for bursary and internship opportunity in the following field:
• Masters of Science (MSc) Data Science

Key Candidate Minimum Requirements:
• Must have completed or currently be enrolled for a BSc Honours in either Computational Statistics, Mathematical
Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science and Mathematics.
• Must have passed at least first year level of either Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Programming, or Applied
Mathematics with a minimum mark of 70%.
• Overall academic average across all studies throughout all years at tertiary institution of no less than 70%.
• Strong mathematical/statistical and computational background.
• Demonstrable knowledge of the basic principles and applications of Calculus, Linear Algebra, Computing,
Statistics and Probability theory.
• Very strong verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills.
• Strong interest in being innovative, keeping abreast of technological advancements and practical application and
implementation of theory.
• Must be a Namibian citizen.

• Complete official transcripts of all academic records that show an average minimum academic performance of
70%.
• Two academic recommendation reference letters.
• Where available proof of application and/or admission for postgraduate MSc studies.
• Proof of any industry placement experience where available.
• Proof of any data science projects undertaken, even as part of the studies.
• Certified copies of all relevant qualifications and documents.
