INSPECTION & VERIFICATION OFFICER

Most employers require a diploma or degree in engineering, quality management, or a related technical field. Certifications like ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or NQA (Namibia Qualifications Authority) accredited quality assurance credentials are highly valued. Practical experience in manufacturing, construction, or regulatory inspection is often preferred.

You will conduct on-site inspections of products, processes, or facilities to ensure compliance with Namibian standards and client specifications. Daily tasks include documenting findings, preparing verification reports, and liaising with suppliers or contractors to address non-conformances. Travel to remote sites is common, especially in mining, agriculture, or construction sectors.

Namibian employers emphasize punctuality, thorough documentation, and respectful communication across diverse language groups including English, Afrikaans, and local languages. Hierarchical structures are common in government and parastatal organizations, while private sector firms may offer more flexible environments. Building trust with local communities and stakeholders is often essential, particularly in rural inspection assignments.

With experience, you can advance to Senior Inspector, Quality Manager, or Compliance Manager positions within manufacturing, mining, or regulatory bodies. Specializing in sectors like SADC trade compliance, environmental auditing, or occupational health and safety opens additional pathways. Some professionals transition into consulting or establish independent inspection services serving cross-border trade.

Contract roles in Namibia often include medical aid contributions, though pension benefits vary significantly by employer type. Government and large mining contracts usually offer more comprehensive packages including travel allowances and protective equipment. Always clarify leave entitlements and contract renewal terms, as these differ between fixed-term and project-based agreements.

Submit applications through employer portals, the Namibia Jobs website, or directly to quality assurance departments in mining, manufacturing, and government agencies like the Namibia Standards Institution. Employers prioritize candidates with demonstrable attention to detail, valid driver's licenses, and familiarity with Namibian regulatory frameworks. Highlight any SADC regional experience and your ability to work independently in remote locations.
