HYDRAULIC FITTER
Opportunity | Duty Description
Debmarine Namibia requires the services of a Hydraulic Fitter. The primary role of this position will be to carry out inspections, repairs and service maintenance work on plant equipment following established maintenance criteria.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Carry out repairs and service maintenance work on hydraulic equipment and machinery.
- Provide accurate information and feedback in accordance with laid down planned maintenance standards, i.e. units numbers, work performed, spares used, and causes of failure.
- Report on all technical matters and deviations to Chief Engineering Officer or Technical Superintendent.
- Maintain adequate supply of materials, spares and components at all times to minimize down time.
- Adhere to Company policies and procedures relating to health, safety, security and environmental issues.

KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
- Responsible for the operation and maintenance of all DBMN Hydraulic equipment and Hydraulic cranes by performing the following:
- Carry out maintenance activities within his section;
- Continuous evaluation of equipment and safety devices;
- Conducting regular inspections and tests to ensure that safety devices of all equipment are operational.
- Actively participate in fault finding and problem solving activities in his section.
- Input into prioritising required work in consultation with the technical team.
- Identification of spares requirements in his section and raise appropriate system requests.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
· Grade 12 plus
· National Trade Diploma in Fitting and Turning
· Three (3) years post trade experience
· At least One (2) year hydraulic experience
The incumbent will be required to spend time at sea followed by equal amount of days ashore
