NAMFI, a non-profit making Institute established in July 1996 by the Ministry of Fisheries and Maritime Resources as a Trust. NAMFI’s primary responsibility is to provide training to the maritime and fishing industries within Namibia.
HUMAN RESOURCES PRACTITIONER
REPORTING TO : HOD: Finance & Admin
DUTY CENTRE: Walvis Bay – PATERSON/GRADING: Grade D1
The Namibian Maritime & Fisheries Institute (NAMFI) was formally established in 1996 by the Ministry of Fisheries and Marine Resources (MFMR) as a Trust. NAMFI’s primary responsibility is to provide training to the maritime and fisheries industry.
NAMFI is seeking employment of a Human Resources Officer, in the Administration Department.
The key focus of the role is to provide strategic leadership and operational skills in some of the following key functional areas
- Staff Performance Management systems.
- Staff development and compliance training.
- Industrial Relations and managing staff discipline.
- Recruitment and retention management.
- Payroll, superannuation and workers compensation systems.
- Culture and communication strategy.
- Occupational Health and Safety.
- Affirmative Action Plan.
- Job Descriptions and grade the jobs.
Qualifications and experience required:
- Minimum 3 year tertiary qualification in Human Resources or Industrial Relations with minimum of 3 years’ experience in HR environment.
Key Competencies:
- Demonstrated experience in employee assessment, design and delivery of training programs in a workplace:
- Demonstrated experience and skills in recruitment and selection of employees
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact, influence and negotiate;
- Computer skills, in particular word processing, presentation, HR systems and spreadsheet programs;
- Demonstrated ability to work as an integral part of multiple teams and without close daily supervision;
- Practical general HR employee relations experience including staff performance management and discipline;
- Human Resource Project management skills: and
- Problem solving skills.
