Job Purpose

The Head of Department (HOD) will provide strategic, academic, and creative leadership, overseeing the development and delivery of innovative editorial design programs. The role ensures high standards in visual communication, alignment with industry trends, and a nurturing learning environment for students pursuing editorial and publishing design careers.

Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience

– Bachelor’s Degree in Editorial Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or related discipline (Master’s Degree preferred)
– Minimum of 3 years in senior academic or design leadership within education, publishing, or creative industries
– Experience in curriculum development, studio management, and academic coordination
– Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and digital publishing platforms
– Strong understanding of design theory, editorial layout, typography, and storytelling for print and digital media
