Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and enforce safety, housekeeping, environmental compliance, and proper isolation of equipment across all HME maintenance activities.
- Receive and carry out daily planned and unplanned work instructions with effective risk assessments.
- Issue, manage, and sign off job cards, monitoring work execution to ensure completion within standards.
- Control breakdowns and maintenance priorities via pit communications.
- Perform quality control inspections on artisan-completed work, including steering and brake systems, verifying OEM compliance.
- Contribute to maintenance planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Grade 12 with a Diesel Mechanic Trade Certificate (or Grade 10 with Trade Certificate).
- Minimum five (5) years’ maintenance experience in heavy mining equipment (HME), covering Hydraulics, Electronics, and Diagnostics.
- Proven maintenance knowledge of Epiroc (D65 drill rig), Caterpillar or Komatsu.
- Valid B driver’s license; ability to work shifts.
- Basic computer literacy in MS Word and Excel.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
