Key Responsibilities
- Plan and implement HSS policies and programs
- Advise and lead employees on various safety-related topics
- Review existing policies and procedures
- Adhere to all the rules and regulations
- Conduct risk assessments
- Enforce preventative measures
- Identify process bottlenecks and offer timely solutions
- Ensure all employees are in adherence with the rules and regulations
- Prepare and present reports on accidents and violations and determine causes
- Oversee workplace repair, installations and any other work that could harm employee’s safety
- Oversee and liaise with Security Guards and ensure the Security Company complies with required standards and expectations
- Manage and coordinate all H&S representatives
Requirements
- Grade 12 with a diploma in Occupational Health, Safety & Security Management
- NOSA accredited
- Minimum of 3 years’ proven experience as HSS Officer or similar role
- In depth knowledge of Health & Safety legislations & processes, Namibian Labour Act, HACCP, Hygiene & GMP’s
- Qualified in firefighting, emergency drills / evacuations and first aid
- Excellent knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices
- Experience in producing reports
- Experience in improving HSS processes and procedures and ensuring the implementation thereof
- Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics
- Customer-orientated and able to co-operate with and support others
- Diligence with great attention to detail
- Able to analyze and interpret information and processes
- Able to use own initiative & take quick decisions independently
- Outstanding administration, planning & organizational skills
- Good time management skills
- Must be creative and innovative in problem solving
- Able to work under pressure & be able to adapt to change
- Team player
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present and explain H&S topics
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Namibian Citizen with a valid driver’s license
