Namibia is blessed with abundant wind and solar renewable energy resources and the Government is looking to harness these resources to establish a new synthetic fuels Industry. The Green Hydrogen Namibia Program (GH2 Namibia) aims to harness the incredible potential of Green Hydrogen as a cornerstone of our nation’s sustainable energy mix. GH2 Namibia has been appointed to carry out the Government’s meticulously crafted Green Hydrogen Strategy. Over the coming 3 years, they aim to drive industrialization across the country striving for successful execution of the designated pilot projects. The Program envisions placing Green Industrialisation, catalyzed through green hydrogen development, at the heart of their construction endeavor, ensuring economic growth and prosperity Is achieved for all Namibians. To make this goal a reality. GH2 Namibia Is seeking to attract top-tier talent that will have the unique opportunity to make a lasting impact within the emerging field of Green Hydrogen, a novel concept In Namibia, a burgeoning industry worldwide, and a field at the pinnacle of advancements in renewable energy technology.
HEAD: LEGAL
The Position
The Head: Legal will be the primary lead on legal affairs pertaining to the program’s activities through the provision of legal advice and services to GH2 Namibia and its key stakeholders. You will ensure the program’s compliance with all relevant legislation and regulation Including national and International frameworks and best practice. You will play a critical role in the establishment of the program and related projects through the assessment of contractual implications and development of legal documents and standards. As the Head of the Legal unit, you will represent GH2 Namibia in all matters pertaining to its legal affairs, handle regulatory matters with due diligence and ensure the protection of the organisation’s interests. This position appeals to you if you are an astute, experienced legal professional with experience in the commerclal/corporate sector, ready to enhance your career within Namibia’s budding Green Hydrogen industry.
Minimum requirements
• A Master’s Degree In Law (UM). Legal Affairs, Corporate Law or a relevant discipline.
• A minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience with at least 6 years in a similar role.
• Experience and/or additional certification In contract and commercial law.
• Member of the Law Society of Namibia.
• Proficiency in English.
