HEAD OF PROCUREMENT – PROCUREMENT WINDHOEK (JOB GRADE: D-UPPER) – Agrimark Operations Namibia (Agrimark)

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee the procurement team to ensure alignment with company goals.
• Implement procurement-related training programs to enhance team capabilities and efficiency.
• Identify potential risks in procurement processes and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Address compliance and regulatory challenges proactively.
• Manage risks related to supply chain disruptions, quality issues, and the financial stability of suppliers.
• Conduct regular risk assessments, develop contingency plans, and diversify the supplier base to ensure operational continuity.
• Negotiate supplier agreements to secure optimal terms and conditions.
• Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure reliability and quality.
• Develop strategies to foster positive supplier relationships and address challenges proactively.

Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent certificate.
• A 3-year diploma or 4-year degree in Supply Chain/Procurement Management.
• 5-10 years of relevant experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
• Demonstrated knowledge of modern management techniques and procurement best practices.
• Familiarity with industry operational rules and production goals.
• Strong leadership skills to motivate and guide the procurement team.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with internal stakeholders and suppliers.
• Proficiency in conducting risk assessments and developing mitigation strategies.
• Ability to analyze procurement data and market trends to inform strategic decisions.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain supplier relationships.
• Adept at negotiation to secure favorable terms and enhance supplier collaboration.
• Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple procurement projects and deadlines.
• Strong numerical aptitude to manage budgets and financial reporting.
