EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

For the rehabilitation of TR1/3 between Keetmanshoop and Mariental (Section A: Between Tses intersection and Gochas intersection). This is a time bound project, employment will be fixed term.

Grader Operator: Final Cutter Responsibilities:

Reporting to the General Foreman the Final Cutter will be responsible for the mixing, spreading and shaping stabilized and unstabilised base course materials in preparing the road base for final seal. The incumbent will also be responsible for giving instruction to others relating to watering and compaction;
Responsible for stabilizing material with subgrade, sub base and base courses in terms of layer improvement, bearing capacity and durability of the road;
Apply in depth knowledge in stabilizing material in terms of moisture, plasticity and cementation and the effects of climatic conditions and temperature.

Requirements

Extensive experience of the full circle of at least 5 road construction projects with relevant experience.
Must have advance competence as a grader operator in road construction;
Demonstrate knowledge of soil stabilization for final level cutting:
Ability to work under extreme pressure and meet targets;
Have absolute awareness of Health, Safety and Environment; adhere to regulations;
Must be able to plan and execute his/her work self- reliantly;
Good communication and interpersonal skills;

Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team;
