Opportunity | Duty Description

• Candidate should be able to teach Geography and Mathematics  (Grade 8 -12 Ordinary and AS Levels).
• Accept responsibilty for quality teaching and the positive learning outcomes of learners
• Set own demanding academic subjects targets and Guide learners to set their own realistic and appropriate academic targets.
• Employ a variety of teaching techniques and media consistent with the needs and abilites of the learners and with the content or skills being taught.
• Identify learning outcomes as knowledge /skills attitudes/ values as well as the appropriate resources for a successfull lesson
• Set and maintain high standards of classroom behaviour, subject management and control.
• Develop scheme of work that reflects appropriate subject syllabus content over a period of a school year.
• Maintain a school atmosphere in class in which basic values are shared to fullest possible extent, and in which attainment of self reliance, responsilbe behaviour and self image are of prime importance.
• Provide learner  centred teaching to individuals and small groups in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of the learners with varying intellectual abilities, and to accomodate a variety of teaching activities.
• Communicate  clearly  and effectively with learners  through questioning, instructing, explaining and feedback and involve learners purposefully.
• Exploit opportunities to develop learners’ skills like numeracy reasoning, informing  handling and oral , reading, writing , listening and spelling skills in English.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity, interests and needs of needs of the leaners

Opportunity | Duty Requirement(s)

• Grade 12 and a recognized 3/4 year tertiary teaching qualification or equivalent on an NQF Level 7
• 10 years teaching experience in the areas of specialization and grades indicated will serve as an advantage;
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in teaching AS Level or Higher level in subjects indicated.
• Have a successful teaching record in the phase
• Advance knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel and Edupac
• Excellent communication skills needed
• Professional, motivated and performance driven individuals with strong administration and organizing skills will be considered

Added Advantages | Special Requirement(s)

• Knowledge of a formal academic environment and teaching on Higher Level or  Advanced Subsidiary (AS) Level will be an added advantage
