General Manager: Aircraft Maintenance

Opportunity | Duty Description
Responsible for all aircraft maintenance functions for Westair operations.
Ensure that maintenance operations and facilities comply with NCAA and FSF BARS standards.
Responsible for efficiently scheduling of engineers and production.
Responsible for managing procurement and stores.
Ensure that all maintenance conducted comply with company standards as per approved MOE.
Control and manage actual cost of maintenance vs budgeted cost.
Report directly to the board of directors on workshop and aircraft maintenance function.
Plan and implement maintenance function for all new operations and projects.
Responsible for ensuring that apprentice training programs are efficiently implemented and monitored.
Work closely with flight operations to ensure that all operations run smoothly.
Work closely with quality assurance department to ensure operation complies with quality standard.
Monitor and report on production on a daily basis.
Manage all workshop and maintenance staff.
Opportunity | Duty Requirement(s)
Qualified Aircraft Maintenance Engineer with more than 25 years’ experience.
Exceptional leadership skills with more than 15 years’ experience in managing and running an aircraft maintenance operation.
Licensed engineer on the following aircraft types: Cessna series, Beechcraft 1900D, B300, Embraer EMB 120/145, Hawker series and Pratt and Whitney engine series.
Extensive experience in conducting heavy (C Check) maintenance on Embraer aircraft.
Extensive experience with managing satellite maintenance stations across Africa.
Minimum 10 years’ experience managing aircraft maintenance workshop.
Computer literate with extensive knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project.
Extensive experience with computer-based aircraft maintenance management systems such as AMP and AMS.
Extensive experience working with BARS, OGP, UN and WFP clients
Added Advantages | Special Requirement(s)
Experience in establishing systems for efficiently running scheduled airline maintenance operations.
Have required experience and network for procuring of spare parts.
Experience with developing and implementing aircraft maintenance training programs for on the job training.
Strong management and leadership skills.
Proven ability to lead large and diverse, cross-functional teams
Strong stakeholder management skills.
Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
