Erongo Marine Enterprises (PTY) LTD (“EME”) is a proudly Namibian registered fishing company, based in Walvis Bay and operates in the Horse Mackerel fishery. EME has an exemplary record in respect of its fishing operations as well as its focus on socio-economic investment and development, both regionally and nationally. We are looking to fill the following vacancy:
Fitter/Turner
Purpose of the role: To fabricate new equipment, parts, bolts & nuts as per vessel required. Reports Chief/2nd Engineer
Minimum role requirements & experience
- • Trade Diploma in Fitting/Turning or equivalent qualification
- • Five plus (5+) years sea-going experience
- • Experience in the horse mackerel industry and/or on horse mackerel midwater trawlers (added advantage)
- • Required to work pre-dominantly at sea (80% working at sea).
- • Ensure adequate technical condition of machine tools
- • Perform metalworks on machine tools and plastic at a highly skilled level
- • Participate in works on service and repair of vessels.
- • Ensure proper housing keeping at all times
- • Regular maintenance of all turning equipment
- • Able to keep watch
