Key Responsibilities
- Head the finance department and take responsibility for the day-to-day management, supervision, and support of the finance team.
- Report directly to the General Manager and provide accurate, timely, and relevant financial information to support decision-making.
- Oversee the full financial reporting cycle, including monthly management accounts, reconciliations, journals, and the closing off of financial records.
- Ensure that all financial records are complete, accurate, properly supported, and ready for management review, audit, and statutory reporting.
- Prepare and review Annual Financial Statements and assist with group reporting requirements where applicable.
- Manage tax, VAT, and other statutory submissions and ensure compliance with applicable Namibian legislation.
- Coordinate with external auditors, NamRA, and other relevant stakeholders as required.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting processes, and reporting disciplines within the finance department.
- Support the General Manager with financial analysis, budgeting, cash flow management, and ad hoc strategic or operational financial matters.
Requirements
- Newly qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification.
- Completed articles with relevant exposure to financial reporting, audit, tax, and month-end or year-end close processes.
- Sound knowledge of financial reporting standards, Namibian tax legislation, VAT, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Ability to prepare, review, and close off monthly, quarterly, and annual financial records accurately and within deadlines.
- Strong leadership potential with the ability to manage and support a finance team.
- Strong working knowledge of ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
- High level of attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
