JOIN THE ABLE TEAM AT THE HEALTH PROFESSIONS COUNCILS OF NAMIBIA (HPCNA)
The Health Professions Councils of Namibia is made up of five Councils established under the following Acts:
- Medical and Dental Council (Act No 10 of 2004)
- Allied Health Professions Councils (Act No 7 of 2004)
- Social Work and Psychology Council (Act No 6 of 2004)
- Pharmacy Council (Act No 9 of 2004)
- Nursing Council (Act No 8 of 2004)
The Primary responsibilities of the Councils are to regulate the education and practice of the Healthcare Practitioners in Namibia.
VACANCY: FINANCE OFFICER
Applications are invited from suitable qualified Namibian citizens for the above-mentioned position.
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Finance Officer will serve in the Department: Finance, Human Resources, Administration and IT and reports to the Senior Finance Officer. He I She will assist walk-in clients, assist client via telephone or email, process claims and payments, daily cash-ups, and day-to-day administration.
MINIMUM ACADEMIC AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- An accredited Diploma in Accounting or equivalent qualification on NQF level 6
MINIMUM SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- At least two (2) years experience in Accounting or finance.
- At least two (2) years experience in the MS Office programs
- At least one (1) year experience in Pastel Accounting.
- Experience of working at an audit firm will be an added advantage.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
- Assist clients with payment of accounts (Cash, Credit Card and EFT)
- Tracing and processing of direct deposits and foreign payments.
- Filling of Bank statements, cash-up verifications, Cash Bank deposits and reversals, Invoice payments and supporting documents.
- Prepare Council claim payments and relevant supporting documents.
- Process Bank statements.
- Reconcile the Speed Point transactions against the bank statements.
- Compute all receipts, payments, refunds, credits accurately and timely.
- Cash-up: calculate daily payments received at end of shift.
- Ensure funds are transferred to the right Councils after verification and processing.
- Assist with reconciliation of debtors.
