Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management: Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and day-to-day financial operations to ensure accuracy and transparency.
- Grant & Donor Compliance: Manage donor-funded projects, ensuring adherence to financial reporting standards and donor-specific regulations.
- Reporting: Prepare timely and accurate financial reports for internal use and donor submission.
- Audit & Controls: Support internal and external audits; maintain strong financial controls and documentation.
- System Oversight: Maintain and optimize accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, ERP); ensure data integrity and efficiency.
- Capacity Building: Train staff on financial procedures, donor compliance, and reporting requirements.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with program teams, donors, and partners to align financial practices with project goals.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s preferred)..
- Certifications: CPA, ACCA, or equivalent (advantageous).
- Experience: 3-5 years in NGO financial management, grants, or donor compliance
- Familiarity with major donors (e.g., USAID, UNICEF, EU, UNDP, GIZ)
- Technical Skills: Proficient in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, ERP systems)
- Advanced Excel capabilities.
- Knowledge: Strong grasp of financial reporting standards and donor compliance frameworks
