FIELD GUIDE – NAANKUSE GROUP OF COMPANIES

Based at TimBila Nature Reserve, Farm Osondjisse 55, Omaruru district
As a Field Guide at Timbila Nature Reserve, your primary responsibility is to lead Conservation Drives, Wildlife Tracking, as well as taking guests Behind the Scenes of how our Reserve operates. You’ll be an expert in local flora and fauna, ecosystems, and geological features found on our reserve.
Your dedication to guest satisfaction, teamwork, and adherence to our company standards
will play a crucial role in promoting sustainable tourism in Namibia. Furthermore, you’ll have
the opportunity to share Naankuse’s conservation success stories with guests. This
engagement fosters an appreciation for the reserve’s commitment to environmental
preservation, enhancing the overall experience for our visitors

Duties and responsibilities:
Nature Interpretation: Lead guided Conservation Drives and Activities, offering insightful
and engaging information about local flora, fauna, and ecosystems. Share in-depth
knowledge of wildlife behavior, plant life, and geological features to enhance the guest
experience during these conservation-focused excursions.
Wildlife Tracking and Observation: Track and locate wildlife during Conservation Drives,
ensuring a memorable and authentic safari experience for guests. Facilitate wildlife
observations while maintaining a safe distance and respecting the natural behaviour of
animals.
Guest Interaction: Engage with guests during Conservation Drives and Activities,
answering questions and tailoring information to the interests of the group. Foster a
positive and enjoyable atmosphere, creating a memorable and educational experience
for visitors focused on conservation awareness.
Conservation Education: Share conservation success stories and challenges during
Conservation Drives, raising awareness about the importance of environmental
preservation. Advocate for sustainable tourism practices and promote a sense of
responsibility toward the natural environment through interactive Conservation Activities.
Multifunctional Support: Contribute to general tasks and responsibilities within the Nature
Reserve, stepping in where needed. Act as a driver for the company when required,
ensuring safe and efficient transportation during excursions. Offer assistance and support
in various capacities, showcasing flexibility and adaptability to the diverse needs of the
reserve.
Continuous Learning: Stay informed about developments in the field of ecology, wildlife
management, and conservation to enhance personal knowledge and share the latest
information with guests during Conservation Drives and Activities.
Equipment and Vehicle Maintenance: Ensure the proper maintenance and care of
equipment used during Conservation Drives, including vehicles and communication
devices, to guarantee the safety and functionality of tools. Conduct regular vehicle
checks, including tire replacements, to uphold safety standards during excursions.
