Key Responsibilities
- Implement, commission and maintain active fibre network infrastructure, including GPON, Carrier Ethernet and DWDM platforms, together with their associated Network Management Systems (NMS).
- Perform advanced fault diagnosis and troubleshooting of active fibre network infrastructure and associated management systems to ensure rapid restoration of services.
- Maintain accurate network installation records, asset information and network topology documentation.
- Monitor the performance and capacity of active fibre network infrastructure, identifying trends and recommending improvements to ensure network reliability and scalability.
- Participate in planned maintenance activities, network upgrades and implementation projects.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company standards, operational procedures and health and safety requirements.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Telecommunications, Electronic Engineering, Information Technology.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the ICT or telecommunications industry.
- Good working knowledge of GPON/FTTx technologies.
- Basic knowledge of DWDM and Carrier Ethernet networking.
- Basic knowledge of IP and Ethernet networking.
- Vendor certifications or training in IP, Optical Networking, GPON or DWDM technologies will be advantageous.
- Valid driver’s licence
