EXECUTIVE: SHIPYARDS OPERATIONS
Division: Shipyards Operations
Department: Projects and Production Department
Job Grade: E3
Location: Walvis Bay, Namibia.

 

 

Primary purpose of the position

 

Is responsible for ensuring operational excellence under the COO while shaping strategic directions in conjunction with the CEO. The role leads and integrates projects and operations to deliver efficiency, compliance, and strategic alignment.

Critical Technical Competencies for this role

 

 

• In-depth knowledge of all business functions associated with shipyard management

• Proficiency in administering ISO standards including ISO 9000, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 3834, and ISO 45000.

• Ability to apply Continuous Improvement strategies across all functions.

• Adaptability and openness to new ideas

• Leadership skills to drive change initiatives.

 

 

Qualification and Experience Required:

 

 

• Honours degree in either Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or Marine Engineering or a similar qualification with a strong technical background at NQF level 8.

• MBA or relevant Masters’ Degree at NQF level 9, will be an added advantage.

• Ten (10) years of experience at a strategic executive managerial level or functional strategic level of which five (5) years should have been on a Project Manager or Engineering Manager level in engineering projects, or heavy engineering project environment.

• A valid code B drivers license.
