Retirement Funds Institute of Namibia (RFIN) representing and promoting the interests of retirement funds industry in Namibia, seeks to appoint an Executive Director. RFIN engages with critical stakeholders on matters pertaining to developments in the pension funds industry.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
The main objective of the position is to bear the responsibility of the overall management of RFIN. Specifically, the incumbent will drive, advise and assist in the formulation, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and review of the RFIN’s strategy. The incumbent must possess strong analytical capability and project management focus and manage projects addressing strategic initiatives and/or opportunities that affects RFIN’s growth and long-term sustainability. The successful candidate must uphold and uplift the image and reputation of the Institute by providing executive support to the board and the industry through active stakeholder engagement and management.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Management and control of the Institute’s office
- Engage and manage relationships with Regulators, Government and all relevant stakeholders
- Responsible for all resources of RFIN
- Grow and retain membership
- Accountable for the Institute’s budgets and monitors and reports on expenses
- Attend Board and industry meetings
- Provide quality assurance of service and solution delivery
- Responsible for promoting the interest of the Institute
- Execute the strategy of the Institute
- Keep abreast of members’ needs and industry trends through training and research
- Engage and manage relationships with Regulators, Government and all relevant stakeholders

- Sound Knowledge of pension funds legal framework (PFA, FIM Bill, ITA, Rules etc.)
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 4-year tertiary level degree (NQF 8) in finance, law or business management, plus any relevant postgraduate qualifications or other achievements.
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant executive level experience in financial services or regulation plus minimum 2 years suitable experience and proven capability at managerial level.
- Sound knowledge of the retirement funds industry, practices and regulatory environment.
- Computer Literacy and Code 08 driver’s license is essential.
