EXCUTIVE: MARKET DEVELOPMENT – NAMIB DESERT DIAMONDS (PTY) LTD

Job Description
NAMDIA markets and sells ethically sourced Namibian diamonds for the benefit of Namibia and her people. After six years of existence and with this goal in mind, the company begins a new era of business refinement and expansion. We are presently seeking:

– Executive: Market Development, Sales & Branding (MDS&B)

This role reports to the CEO, and together with Chief Operations Officer (COO), is one of three EXCO members. The role is responsible for directing and managing the business functions of diamonds “production” (sorting, valuation, and price setting), branding, sales, communications, business, and market intelligence. The indicated functions require alignment and integration towards the optimisation of the mid- to downstream diamonds value chain for extraction of maximum value for Namibian diamonds. Furthermore, the incumbent will be responsible for developing, leading, and managing the MDS&B function through astute research, analysis, key player engagement, and position the brand optimally within the diamonds value chain and enable the achievement of optimal business outcomes while ensuring superior governance and compliance. The long-term aim of this role is to develop the business opportunities that are within the progressive scope of NAMDIA’s business reach and add complementary value to NAMDIA and its strategic targets. Furthermore, to manage the business targets within the context of astute awareness of optimising socioeconomic value for Namibia.

Minimum requirements:
• A Master level academic qualification in the areas of Commerce, Business Administration, Economics/Business Economics or similar, evaluated at NQF 9.
• At least 10 years of work experience in a professional business environment compromising of five (5) years in mid-managerial roles with coverage of ideally Sales, Marketing, Branding management and at least two (2) years in an executive/ higher management role within a business environment.
• Significant experience in Sales, Marketing, and Branding management.
• Diamond industry experience in the sales/marketing function as well as market/ products/economics research experience will be advantageous.
• A valid Code B Driver’s License.
