ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH PRACTITIONER – KHORIXAS

VACANCY 

Job Title: Environmental Health Practitioner
Grade: Patterson Grade C4
Department: Corporate Affairs & HR
Reporting SE: Corporate Affairs & HR
Salary Scale: 261,328 – 271,885
Housing Allowance: 20% of Basic Salary (if not owning a house)
Housing Subsidy: 40% of Basic Salary (if owning a housing bond)
Council Pension Contribution: 21.7% of Basic Salary (PM)
Council Medical Aia Contribution: 85%
Bonus: 13th Cheque

Main Purpose of the Position:

To plan and implement effective waste and environmental management activities and to implement effective measures to ensure compliance with all relevant health and environment standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

– Food Inspections
– Communicable and preventative disease control
– Industrial hygiene /healthy working conditions / prevention and elimination of occupational diseases
– Identification, prevention and control of water, air, and land pollution
– Health education programs
– Building plan approval
– Staff supervision and related administration

Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12 certificate plus National Diploma in Public Health or Environmental Health. Registered with the Allied Health Professions Council of Namibia as an Environmental Health Practitioner. 3 years’ appropriate experience. One (1) year in supervisory position. Code B/EB Driving Licence.
