ENVIRONMENTAL COORDINATOR – Manica Group Namibia

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure full compliance with Namibian environmental legislation, industry regulations, municipal by-laws, and permit conditions.
• Maintain and update Environmental Management Plans (EMPs).
• Conduct periodic legal compliance audits.
• Coordinate environmental inspections, internal audits, and external ISO 14001 surveillance/re-certification audits.
• Review and approve environmental controls for new projects, expansions, operations, and contractor activities.
• Engage with clients, contractors, and partners on environmental requirements and compliance expectations.
• Implement waste management programs.
• Liaise with government regulators and municipal authorities.
• Maintain, implement, and continually improve MGN ISO 14001 EMS.
• Review, update, and control EMS documentation and procedures.

Requirements

• NQF Level Seven (7) Qualification – Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Natural Resources, or related field.
• Min Five (5) years’ experience in environmental management, i.e. mining, logistics, marine, oil & gas, or industrial operations.
• Strong working understanding of Namibian environmental laws, regulations, and related legislation.
• Experience in environmental risk assessments, compliance audits.
• Valid code 8 driver’s license.
• Solid knowledge of ISO 14001:2015 EMS and the UN SDGs.
• ISO 14001:2015 Auditor certification (Internal or Lead Auditor).
• Computer literacy (MS Office, SHEQ systems advantageous).
