Key Responsibilities
- Ensure full compliance with environmental regulations, ESMP, NSMPs, and Employer requirements on site.
- Monitor and enforce environmental management practices throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and environmental impact assessments.
- Identify environmental risks and implement mitigation measures.
- Promote environmental awareness and compliance among site staff and contractors.
- Prepare environmental reports and maintain proper documentation.
- Work closely with the Site Agent and project team to resolve environmental issues.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in the construction industry.
- At least 3 years’ experience in a similar Environmental Control Officer role.
- Minimum 5 years’ working experience in Sub-Saharan Africa, preferably Namibia.
- Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and compliance standards.
- Experience implementing ESMP and related environmental frameworks.
- Excellent reporting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluency in written and spoken English (mandatory).
