Engineer: LV Planning and Design – City of Windhoek

Job Description

To render a management and engineering support function in the planning and design of the electricity network of the City of Windhoek.

Key Performance Areas

Performs Engineering and Management functions on low voltage planning and design activities in the Engineering Services Division. Performs the planning, monitoring and control of engineering drawings, design updates and upkeep in the Engineering Services Division. Manage human resources and safety responsibilities within the sub-section. Provides a management of electricity bids, equipment bids and network simulation software. Performs interfacing functions with external and internal customers. Performs leadership, training and financial control duties in the Section.

Skills, Experience & Education

BSc/ B Eng. Degree (Electrical Engineering) OR B. Tech Degree (Power Engineering), a minimum period of four (4) years’ relevant experience in the required field of specialization of which two (2) years must have been in a supervisory role in case of Professional Engineer OR Six (6) years’ relevant experience in the required field of specialization of which three (3) years must have been in a supervisory role in case of Incorporated Engineer; Registered as Professional or Incorporated Engineer with Engineering Council of Namibia (ECN) and a valid code B driver’s license.
