Key Responsibilities
- Routine Maintenance: Perform preventative and corrective electrical maintenance on fish processing machinery, grading systems, skinning machines, packaging lines and conveyer systems.
- Fault Finding & Repair: Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical faults, including three-phase power distribution, control panels, motors, and variable speed drives (VSDs/VFDs).
- Automation & Controls: Diagnose and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and instrumentation systems (sensors, actuators, temperature controls).
- Refrigeration Support: Assist with the electrical components of large-scale industrial blast freezers and cold storage facilities.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all electrical work complies with local safety standards and maritime/food-safety regulations. Maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment.
- Emergency Response: Attend to breakdowns swiftly to minimize production downtime in a fast-moving, perishable-goods environment.
Requirements
- Certified/Trade Tested Electrician (Industrial/Installation Electrician qualification).
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as an electrician in an industrial manufacturing or food processing environment. Experience in fish processing environment will be highly advantageous.
- Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints.
- Solid understanding of PLC systems (Siemens, Honeywell, etc.) and industrial automation.
- Experience working with washdown-rated (IP65/IP69K) electrical components suitable for wet environments.
- Comfortable working in a wet, cold, and fast-paced seafood processing environment.
- Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and night shifts, as required by production schedules.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work in confined spaces or at heights when necessary.
