Editor

JOB PURPOSE
To effectively oversee the news content of each New Era edition as well as manage online content.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
• Monitors editorial and administrative functions in the department
• Coordinate online or print publishing cycle
• Ensures that editorial department complies with media law and ethical guidelines
• Co-ordinates the planning, generation, execution and assessment of news, features and photographic assignments
• Manages overall quality of all editorial work
• Staff management

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Degree [NQA Level 7] in Media Study from a recognized tertiary institution
• Foreign qualifications must be evaluated by NQA
• Six (6) years relevant working experience of which two (2) years should have been at a supervisory level
• Post graduate qualification is an added advantage
• Proven knowledge of media industry
