MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
The Driver is responsible for transportation services at the foundation including administrative and
logistic support, handling pick-ups and deliveries to ensure efficient and effective execution of
programmes and activities.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
» Provide driving services;
» Transport only authorised passengers;
» Maintain accurate and up to date schedule trip sheets; i.e. log official trips, daily mileage, fuel
consumption;
» Ensure that vehicles are serviced and licensed is on time by informing supervisor 1-2 months
in advance;
» Perform daily trip and post trip vehicle inspection to ensure that official vehicles are kept
clean and in the best condition at all times;
» Handle routine and ad-hoc administrative tasks relevant to the execution of the function; i.e.
collect office consumables;
» Responsible for general maintenance and to assist the cleaner in ensuring a clean office
environment (in and outside), including parking areas;
» Collect, distribute and control movement of documents;
» Ensure proper and secure control over movement of documents;
» Report incidents and accidents timeously and compile vehicle condition reports and other
records required by management;
» Coordinate and liaise with management to ensure that minor/major vehicle maintenance
are carried out;
» Assist in the lifting, moving, mounting and storing of equipment;
» Complete attendance registers and submit monthly time sheets;
» Perform other duties as may be assigned by the overall supervisor.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
» Valid driving license – Code C1 (former code 10);
» Grade 12 qualification;
» Certificate of good conduct;
» Diploma in transport management is advantageous.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
» A minimum of 5 years of driving experience;
» Excellent communication skills – oral and written;
» Ability to speak English;
» Excellent interpersonal/ skills;
» Flexible team player;
» Good time management and organisational skills.
Preferred
» High degree of integrity and honesty;
» Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality;
» Sound judgement and good understanding of the road Act;
» Youth friendliness and non-judgemental attitude towards young people;
» Exercise ethical practices, respectful conduct and behaviour towards internal and external
stakeholders, and equitable treatment of others in all activities.
