Direct Supervisor: Head of Business Strategy and Development.
Job Purpose:
To lead the Business Strategy and Development Unit.

Minimum Qualifications:
A relevant, internationally recognised Master’s Degree (NQF 9).
Minimum Experience:
Eight (8) years’ relevant experience.
Professional Registration:
Valid Drivers’ License.
Professional certification or accreditation will be an added advantage.
Key Performance Areas:
- Accountable to the Head of Business Strategy and Development regarding the overall performance of the Business Strategy and Development Unit of the Business Strategy and Development Department.
- Manage the Business Strategy and Development Unit of the Business Strategy and Development Department including overseeing the Manager Domestic Taxes Programme; Manager Customs Programme; and Manager Programme Office.
- Oversee the development, review and implementation of all relevant policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Participate in the strategic- and operational planning and execution processes of NAMRA.
- Implement the Business Strategy and Development Operational Plan within delegation of authority and spearhead the strategic vision across all fronts of the business.
- Monitor and evaluate the departmental performance against strategic- and operational plans.
- Responsible for the development and oversight of the NAMRA corporate strategies to support growth objectives while strengthening the business core to develop and maintain a competitive advantage.
- Develop a decentralized activity planning process and ensuring its adoption across the businesses. Manage the development of corporate plans and budgets by playing a lead role in all the planning and budgeting activities performed by the business.
- Develop the KPI infrastructure to facilitate analysis and reporting of performance against plans and budgets as well as strategic objectives.
- Manage the development of weekly /quarterly/ annual performance reports for the business’s leaders as well as facilitating cross-functional performance reviews for this leadership.
- Responsible for Strategic Risk Management.
- Manage analyses that will provide valuable benchmarking for management as well as timely insights to various departments.
- Guide and lead the Business Strategy and Development Department and oversee the implementation of performance management to capacitate the Department in executing its functions aligned with NAMRA’s vision and mission.
- Account for the compilation, submission, and execution of annual Departmental budgets to the Head of Business Strategy and Development.
- Develop and prepare funding proposals and reports against project and programme-based budgets.
- Maintain prudent financial management and reporting controls.
- Establish and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relations and collaborate with relevant industry stakeholders as required.
- Any other function delegated or related to the position.
