Key Responsibilities
- Trouble shooting / Fault finding and defect rectification on all Mining/Mobile Equipment at the mine
- Scheduled Maintenance of all Mining/Mobile Equipment including LDV’s and HDV’s
- Inspecting all Mining/Mobile Equipment including LDV’s and HDV’s .
- Maintenance and Breakdown repairs ( Drilling & Blasting Equipment, Load & Haul and Auxiliary Equipment)
- Ensuring optimal vehicle and earth moving equipment performance
- Guidance and on the job training of maintenance trainees
- Perform risk management before commencement of all tasks.
- Adherence to work management standards (Meaningful and comprehensive feedback on job cards to improve maintenance plans and facilitate breakdown and other investigations)
- Adherence to all health, safety and environmental practices and policies and participation in all related initiatives
- Practicing good housekeeping on an ongoing basis
- Assist with ad-hoc duties as requested by Supervisor, Superintendent or Head of Department
Requirements
- A recognized Trade Diploma as a Qualified Diesel Mechanic (Red Seal qualification)
- A minimum of 3 years applicable post-qualification technical trade-related experience within the mining industry / underground mining environment.
- Experience with Maintenance systems (D365) will be an added advantage.
- A distinct advantage is given for Experience on : Mining Mobile Equipment
- This specific position requires that the applicant be able and willing to work shifts, overtime and do standby when required
- Valid Code B Driver’s License (Code C will be advantageous)
- Valid Police Clearance Certificate (not older than 6 months)
