Minimum Requirement: A Bachelor Degree in Law (LLB) at NQF Level 7 plus nine (9) years appropriate experience. Specialization in Transport/Maritime/Shipping Law/lnternational Law or verifiable legal drafting experience will be a distinct advantage.
Key Responsibilities: Reporting to the Director Maritime Affairs, the post will take direct responsibility for the management of the legal function within the Directorate of Maritime Affairs in the furtherance of the objectives of DMA. The post-holder will be responsible for the following roles:
- Developing and implementing national and international maritime policies, laws and standards,
- Provides legal and policy advice on issues related to the mandate of DMA.
- Provide national and international liaison on maritime legal issues.
