Responsibilities

• Ensure departmental sales in line with agreed budgets.
• Effectively manage weekly and seasonal Store Sales Plan and implement trading notes for the allocated area.
• Give input to customer profiles and timeously communicate updates to the Line Manager.
• Ensure Clothing and Home stock inventory processes are implemented in the allocated area.
• Ensure shop keeping disciplines are continuously in place in the allocated department. This includes the following:
• Drive stock availability through influencing and managing over and under stock scenarios.
• Maximize promotional and special events sales by accurately and timeously implementing promotions by building effective relationships with buying groups.
• Conduct comparative shopping to inform buying groups and to increase product knowledge.
• Complete clothing and home risk audit components to ensure compliance.
• Ensure the delivery of a consistent customer shopping experience in line with the agreed service levels.
• Conduct weekly risk documentation.
• Ensure timeous replenishment of merchandise.
• Accurately and timeously implement commercial plans in allocated departments.
• Develop, recruit, retain, and lead a competent and motivated designated Clothing and Home team.
• Conduct performance and development discussions (IPM) with the team.
• Minimizes Shrinkage.
• Reporting acts of dishonesty related to shrinkage and fraud to your line manager or shrinkage hotline.
• Understand, apply, and manage all red flag processes, policies, and procedures.
• Identify and manage all shrinkage hotspots within the department.
• Facilitate regular ongoing shrinkage meetings to ensure employee participation and creating awareness amongst employees.
• Effectively manage all processes and procedures aimed at minimizing shrinkage.

Requirements

• Grade 12 & any tertiary qualification will be an advantage
• 5 years’ experience in Retail of which 3 years should have been at managerial level
• Innate awareness of clothing and home retail trend
• Numeric ability and IPM Rating 3 or 4
• Computer literacy
• Strong Merchant Ability
• Well-proven Management Skills
• Be available to travel
