- The role is responsible for the daily operations and maintenance of MTC’s data centre to ensure the smooth and efficient running of server environments and the administering of infrastructure hardware and software.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field.
- MTC Vehicle Usage Procedure requires that all employees have a valid driver’s license.
- At least 5 years minimum work experience is required to work in this position.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in computer operations and production support.
- 2 years experience in network database administration.
- 3 years experience working in a data centre environment.
- 2 years experience working within a telecommunications environment.
- At least 2 years experience with setting up hardware, software, and routine maintenance tasks.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite experience.
- Understanding of servers, storage, and networking fundamentals.
- Advanced skills in updating technical records, incident logs, and generating system reports.
- Ability to identify and resolve common system and network issues.
- Understanding of security protocols, access control, and compliance requirements
- Ability to monitor system health, troubleshoot basic issues, and escalate problems when necessary.
- Knowledge of backup processes and procedures to ensure data integrity.
- Ability to analyze issues and apply logical troubleshooting steps.
- Ability to document and explain issues clearly to senior administrators and other teams
- Ability to track and document changes in the IT environment as per best practices.
