COST & MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT
(Position based in Walvis Bay)

Job-Purpose:
Primary responsibility to manage and optimize cost control processes while providing crucial financial insights to drive efficiency and profitability.

Responsibilities and Duties;
• Conduct regular cost analysis to identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
• Monitor financial data and maintain accurate cost records.
• Monitor financial and creditor operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline operational processes.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
• Prepare comprehensive financial reports and presentations for senior management
• Participate in financial audits and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Provide recommendations for cost-effective strategies and process enhancements.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in cost and management accounting.

Minimum Requirements and Mandatory Competencies:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Finance, or a related field
• Must have completed Audit Articles (Proof required)
• Professional accounting certification (eg.. CIMA. ACCA) is an added advantage.
• 5 years proven experience as a Cost and Management Accountant or a similar role within the logistics industry.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices.
• Experience in Systems Analysis. Systems Evaluation, and process optimisation
• Computer Literacy:
•Accounting Software: Sage/Pastel.
•MS Office: Excel/Outlook/Word
•Payroll Software: VIP Premier
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in a team.
• Strong leadership skills
