Salary Scale : N$328,139 – N$392,158 per annum
Transport allowance : N$7,680.00 per annum
Housing allowance : N$13,080.00 per annum
Appointment requirements: A National Diploma at NQF level 6 in the following field of study:
Nature Conservation, Wildlife Management, Protected Areas Management, Conservation
Biology, Environmental Management or related wildlife management field, plus three (3)
years appropriate experience at Chief Warden Level. Possession of a valid code BE driver’s
license is a prerequisite.
Job description:
Coordinate and oversee all technical and administrative matters at subdivision level
Conservation and care of wildlife, management of regional and protected areas and
implement protected area management plans.
Provide technical support and advice to the Ministry, general public and other
stakeholders on biodiversity conservation and sustainable utilization of natural resources
Community Based Natural Resource Management, particularly support conservancy
administration and management
Carry out routine inspections, meetings at stations under his/her jurisdiction.
Monitor, assess and direct monthly work programmes and output of the staff members
under his/her supervision
Draft and submit various reports as expected by the reporting system in the directorate
Ensure the enforcement of applicable legislation in the directorate
Implement various ministerial policies, guidelines and strategies
Recruits staff in consultation with the Deputy Director
Identify training and career development needs of staff
Plan and implement development programs around conservation priorities
Assist the Deputy Director in Drafting annual work plans and budget requests.
Assist Deputy Director in attending numerous regional meetings and report back.
In consultation with the Deputy Director propagate the need for policy changes and
maintenance of standards
Enforce budget control and expenditure under his/her sub-division
Determine training needs and organize training for staff members under his/her subdivision
Provide leadership to staff under his/her subdivision
Supervise the procurement of stock, equipment, materials and tools under his/her
subdivision in consultation with the Stock Administrative Officer.
Carries out other functions or tasks that may be assigned from time to time by upper
supervisor and upper management
