CONFECTIONER / C1 – Wecke & Voigts

A Grade 12 certificate is typically required, with preference given to candidates who have completed a diploma or certificate in Food Production, Baking, or Culinary Arts from institutions like the Namibia University of Science and Technology or the Namibian Institute of Culinary Education. Previous experience in a commercial bakery or confectionery setting is highly advantageous.

Daily tasks include preparing doughs, batters, and fillings; operating baking equipment; decorating cakes and pastries; ensuring food safety standards are met; and maintaining cleanliness in the production area. You will also be expected to monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management.

Namibian employers typically value punctuality, teamwork, and respect for hierarchy in the workplace. You should expect early morning shifts, adherence to strict hygiene protocols, and a strong emphasis on producing consistent quality products for both local and export markets.
