A Grade 12 certificate is typically required, with preference given to candidates who have completed a formal apprenticeship or NTA-accredited qualification in baking or food production. Practical experience in a commercial bakery or confectionery setting is highly valued. Some employers may also require a food handler's certificate for hygiene compliance.

Daily tasks include preparing doughs, batters, and fillings according to standardized recipes, operating baking and mixing equipment, and ensuring consistent product quality. You will also monitor baking temperatures, decorate finished products, and maintain strict hygiene standards in line with Namibian food safety regulations. Inventory management and cleaning of workstations are also standard responsibilities.
