Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely and effective collections of all amounts that fall due.
- Manage the preparation and submission of expected collection files for all clients on each specified cut off dates.
- Maintain submission tracking schedules to indicate which client has been invoiced that month and for how much.
- Ensure all invoiced amounts are received on specified due date.
- Ensure all collected amounts are accounted for within the month in which they are received.
- Ensure effective management of the company arrears management as provided for in the credit policy.
- Ensure clients that fall behind are followed up immediately and remedial measures are instituted immediately.
- Effectively monitor and maintain accurate loan and age analysis files and ensure accurate loan classification as provided for in the company credit policy.
- Escalate to legal all amounts that remain unpaid as provided for in the credit policy.
- Manage and adhere to the internal service level agreements.
- Supervise the debt collections and recovery team.
- Ensure compliance to all regulations.
- Prepare accurate and timely reports to management committees.
- Carry out daily duties as guided by the business operational guidelines.
REQUIREMENTS
- Business Intelligence experience.
- Reporting, planning, and organizing skills with excellent time management skills.
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Developing value proposition.
- Regulatory and legal compliance.
- Customer relationship management.
- Knowledge of budget management.
- Basic commercial and financial acumen.
- Interpersonal, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Education (diploma) or experience in related field is preferred – Bachelor’s Degree in any related field (finance) will be advantageous.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a customer service environment (or other related field) and 1-2 years of experience in Collections environment is preferable.
- Analytical thinking with an attention to detail and accuracy.
- Customer centricity.
- Assertiveness and proactiveness.
- Approachable and team player.
- Good judgement and conflict management.
- Ability to handle stressful situations appropriately and strong decision-making skills.
- Driver’s license
- Valid Police Clearance Certificate
