Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and present salads, desserts, pastries, sauces, breads, and specialty dishes.
- Assist with daily kitchen preparation and mise en place.
- Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene, and food safety.
- Maintain proper stock rotation and minimise food wastage.
- Keep workstations clean, organised, and safe.
- Support the kitchen team during busy service periods.
Requirements
- Relevant culinary / pastry qualification experience, with obtainable references
- 2-3 years’ relevant experience
- Grade 12
- Experience in a hotel, restaurant, lodge, catering, or hospitality environment will be an advantage.
- Good knowledge of food preparation, hygiene, and safety standards.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Creative with excellent attention to detail.
- Passionate about food and presentation.
- Reliable, hardworking, and well organised.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Flexible and willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
