CLEARING & FORWARDING SUPERVISOR Namibia

An exciting and challenging opportunity has become available for a suitably qualified individual to join a dynamic Clearing & Forwarding team, based in Walvis Bay

The responsibilities of the successful applicant will include, but are not limited to the following.

• Ensure all shipping and clearing documentation are completed on time within ISO parameters
• Obtain export instructions from supplier/ exporter.
• Ensure the in-house systems and procedures regarding exports and imports are followed.
• Pass SAD500/NPA within Customs & Excise and NPA parameters
• All bonded entries to be acquitted within the timeframe stipulated by Customs and Excise.

Completing of quotes and tenders in the required period.

• All emails and quotes to be attended to immediately and not later than 24 hours
• Send holding messages to clients if delay is expected.
• Co-ordinates all services and tasks for the desk.
• Ensure that all costing/quotes are accounted for and are received.
• Ensure that all revenue is accounted for by Finance
• Ensure client relations are continuously improved.

Identify possible clients and revenue growth areas.

Meet deadlines and tenders. Ensure a professional and reliable service relating to files/quotes and emails.

Qualification:

• Matric/Grade 12
• Industry qualification an advantage

Experience:

• A minimum of 5 years relevant import/ export experience within the shipping industry
• Asycuda knowledge beneficial

• Ability to work in a structured and methodical manner, ensuring accuracy
• Good communication skills (oral & written)
• Ability to work under pressure

• Shows initiative and problem solving
• Computer literate with advanced knowledge of MS Programs
