Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate and support EXCO and the Board in setting and reviewing MTC’s short-, medium- and long-term strategic direction.
- Develop, design, and implement corporate, functional, and cross-functional strategies aligned with the company vision and national digital priorities.
- Lead the strategic planning process, including the development of integrated business plans and 3 to 5 year strategic roadmaps.
- Conduct in-depth research, data analysis, and performance reviews to inform strategic business decisions.
- Monitor and evaluate organisational performance against strategic objectives, market dynamics and financial targets.
- Drive enterprise architecture design to ensure alignment between strategy, structure, processes, and resources.
- Lead digital strategy formulation and oversee execution of digital transformation initiatives across the business.
- Manage innovation, research, and incubation of new initiatives, products and future revenue streams beyond traditional voice and data.
- Drive business transformation initiatives, including evaluating and adopting emerging technologies.
- Advise EXCO and the Board on industry trends, competitive positioning, investment opportunities, risks, and regulatory impacts.
- Oversee strategic risk management, business continuity, and resilience planning.
- Prepare and present strategic and performance reports to EXCO, the Board and other key stakeholders.
- Budget for and control the strategy function’s expenditure.
- Provide leadership and people management oversight for the strategy department.
Requirements
- MBA or general business qualification (Required).
- Relevant Master’s degree in Strategic Management, Economics, Information Technology or related discipline (Required).
- Minimum of 10-12 years total work experience, with at least:
- 5 years’ experience in Telecommunications, ICT or a related industry.
- 3 years’ experience at an Executive Management level.
- 5 years’ experience leading strategic initiatives in a large, complex organisation.
- 5 years’ experience in digital transformation leadership roles.
- Strong strategic, analytical and logical reasoning skills at an executive level.
- Advanced stakeholder management and influence skills (Board, regulators, investors, and partners).
- Strong understanding of corporate finance, risk management, governance and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven ability to incubate, pilot and scale strategic and transformative initiatives.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and leadership skills.
- Analytical mindset with strong data interpretation and forecasting capability.
- Must be a Namibian citizen or hold permanent residence.
- Valid driver’s licence (as per MTC vehicle usage policy).
