MARCO FISHING (Pty) Limited in Luderitz, is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer and requires the services of a Chief Executive Officer at its head office and factory in Luderitz.
The incumbent reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for the effective leadership, financial management and profitability of the organisation. The responsibilities will inter alia include fleet and land based factory operations, procurement, marketing and financial controls.
The incumbent will be required to execute the following:
■ Pro-actively shape the future of the company and ensure financial and operational success and growth.
■ Develop, improve and reinforce standards, procedures and execute instructions in close cooperation with the Chairman of the Board of Directors. Be authoritive in managing across the organization.
■ Manage organizational operations, labour relations and negotiations, human resources, regulatory control and compliance, maintenance management, system evaluation, quality assurance.
■ Create an ethos of excellence and continued improvement across all activities of the organization.
■ High stress tolerance which implies the ability to take correct decisions under high pressure.
■ Manage with agility, be flexible and able to react fast in a non-stable environment.
■ Ability to compile and control a budget according to acceptable accounting standards. Drive efficiencies and cost reduction. Manage performance indicators across the organization.
■ Drive quality assurance programs through continuous review and auditing.
■ Excellent problem solving skills, as it is required from the individual to analyze situations and solve complex problems.
■ Interpersonal skills, as it is required from the individual to relate to professionals on an international level.
■ Planning abilities, as incumbent has to plan maintenance and activities of various departments.
■ Computer literate: Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
A Graduate, preferably with a post-graduate business related degree.
At least 20 years’ business working experience
Solid track record in organizational management of fleet operations in the fishing industry.
Strong commercial acumen.
Strong in managing complex internal and external stakeholder engagement.
Strong governance compliance.

• Be a Namibian citizen,
• Have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized tertiary institution. Preferably post-graduate qualification.
• Proficient in all maritime operations with at least 15 years' experience in the fishing or related industry,
• Extensive experience in procurement and managing the operational fleet and logistics thereto,
• Computer-literate, proficient in MS Excel and MS Word as well as MS Outlook,
• Proficient in written and spoken English,
• Excellent planning and the ability to work independently whilst exhibiting an energetic and positive demeanor,
• Code 08 drivers' license.
